Group Leader/Associate Director, Oncology Drug Discovery

Description:

Individual will be responsible for oversight and direction of molecular and cellular efforts within our oncology program. Duties will include supporting and driving projects to clinical candidates and selecting new targets. The successful candidate will work with multi-disciplinary groups including medicinal chemistry, in vivo pharmacology, in vitro ADME and DMPK. Projects will encompass both low molecular weight and biotherapeutic (antibodies and proteins) efforts.  This position will have supervisory responsibility for a team of Ph.D. scientists and scientific associates working on development and validation of in vitro assays to guide compound optimization and target identification/validation in support of oncology programs. 

Required qualifications and experience
•Ph.D. in a relevant field with biotechnology or pharmaceutical drug discovery experience 
•Broad, demonstrated knowledge of oncology-relevant signaling pathways, the genetics of cancer and current clinical practice
•Strong project leadership experience on projects that have produced clinical candidates
•Quintessential team player
•Demonstrated record of scientific achievement
•Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience working as part of multi-site collaborative projects
•Experience supervising research associates and Ph.D. scientists
•High level of self-motivation and ability to thrive in a goal- and team-oriented setting
